The building collapsed
at Al Khozyni Islamic Boarding School, Buduran,
Sidoarjo
, starting using heavy equipment.Five units of crane heavy equipment were deployed on Thursday (2/10).
This was revealed by the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, during a press conference at the Joint SAR Post.
Pratikno said, before the search operation using heavy equipment began, the combined SAR elements and government ranks had carried out a series of assessments and dialogues with the victims’ families first.

“Well, this was just now we were led by the Head of BNPB with a dialogue again because every day communication continues to be carried out with the families of the students. Is it time to do the evacuation by using the help of heavy equipment,” Pratikno said.
Pratikno said, Basarnas had also carried out various kinds of assessments to detect whether there were still victims of life trapped in the ruins.The result is there are no signs of life since last night.
The family had already received that explanation, they finally agreed that the evacuation would begin using heavy equipment.
“There are no more signs of life found. It has been explained to the family and therefore the family also agrees for the use of heavy equipment. After all, the use of heavy equipment will be used very, very carefully,” he said.
“Please pray that the victims are still found congratulations, we continue to pray for that. Hopefully the families of the victims will be given fortitude, patience, sincerity in facing this very alarming disaster,” Pratikno said.
As is known, the three -storey building including the musala at the Putra Pondok Pesantren Al Khoziny Dormitory in Buduran, Sidoarjo, collapsed, Monday (29/9) afternoon.
At the time of the incident, it was found that there were hundreds of students who were carrying out the Asr prayer in congregation in the building that was still in the construction stage.
During the three days of search operations, until Wednesday (1/10) night, there were 108 victims who had been evacuated.Of that number, five of them reportedly died.While 103 others were confirmed to be safe but injured.It is estimated that there are still dozens of people trapped in the ruins.
