Member of the House of Representatives Commission IX from the Nasdem Faction, Irma Chaniago reminded BGN to start being careful in running the MBG program.With a very large budget, he said, it should be more vigilant.
“BGN with a very large budget, must be extra careful in carrying out the mandate of the President,” he said when contacted on Friday (9/19).
He admitted that his party had given a number of records to BGN in a working meeting at the House of Representatives Commission IX, Tuesday (9/16).
“We from Commission IX have conveyed many things, from evaluating budget absorption, menu variations, menu control, evaluation of the availability of nutritional service units, (SPPG) and evaluating kitchen service standards,” said Irma.
Irma also asked BGN to immediately start a Healthy Rank Supervision Coordination Program with the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM).Moreover, poisoning cases still occur in several regions.
Member of the House of Representatives Commission IX from the PDIP Faction, Edy Wuryanto highlighted the MBG poisoning case that was still rife.For example, in the past week occurred in Baubau, Lamongan, Sumbawa, Gunungkidul, to Garut.
According to Edy, the case indicated that supervision had not been running because BGN was too focused on the construction of the Nutrition Services Fulfillment Unit (SPPG).SPPG is an operational unit that serves as a production kitchen and nutritious food provider to support the MBG program.
According to him, the root of the problem of a number of cases of mass poisoning cannot be separated from the role of BGN who is more focused on pursuing kitchen quantity in order to increase budget absorption.In fact, the BGN budget of Rp71 trillion has only been absorbed 18.6 percent.
“What is being pursued now is the number of kitchens, not quality. Kitchen quantity is targeted, while quality and security standards are ignored. As a result, there are kitchens that are built as long as there are those who have not met the standards,” he said.
Edy suggested that SPPG should be accredited or verified by external institutions to ensure the feasibility and quality standards of MBG.
“Do not easily allow SPPG that is not in accordance with standards to operate so that beneficiaries are not disadvantaged,” he said.
Based on the records of a number of non -governmental institutions the MBG poisoning case has taken a total of thousands of people, especially children in various regions.
Educational Observer Organization, the Indonesian Education Monitoring Network (JPPI) records that there are at least more than five thousand children experiencing poisoning after consuming MBG until September 2025.
“Since MBG was launched, victims of poisoning continue to grow. Monitoring JPPI until mid -September 2025 noted, no less than 5,360 children experienced poisoning due to this program,” said JPPI press release received on Thursday (18/9) night.
Increased cases of poisoning that were revealed were also said to have increased this week, both in terms of number and location distribution.
JPPI also suspected the number of MBG menu poisoning was bigger, because it was suspected that there were also schools, local governments, or apparatus that covered the news.
“This number is certainly greater, because many schools and local governments actually choose to cover up the case,” he said.
On that basis, JPPI asked Prabowo and the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) to no longer close their eyes to the repeated tragedy of the MBG program.
Meanwhile, the Institute for Development of Economics and Finance (INDEF) in the exposure of the Head of the Digital Economy and MSME Center, Izzudin Al Farras, on 4 September recorded that there were four thousand more victims of MBG poisoning during the first eight months of its implementation.
