The collapse of the Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School building, Buduran,
Sidoarjo
, East Java (Jatim) which killed more than 60 students and this is now entering a new phase, namely the legal process.
Member of Commission III DPR Soedeson Tandra warned the police to thoroughly investigate the building collapse incident in the Islamic boarding school area which killed 67 people.

Soedeson urged the police to determine the cause of the building collapse.This effort was made so that similar cases do not happen again.
“To avoid further victims, we ask law enforcement officials, especially the police, to investigate thoroughly. Where, whether there was a structural error that resulted in so many victims,” said Soedeson when contacted by journalists, Wednesday (8/10).
The Golkar politician also highlighted the need for permits to build buildings that meet standards.
“In general, all buildings must have a building permit. The building must meet specifications, right,” he said.
He wants the police to be fair if violations are found in building structures.Soedeson believes that the state must first provide justice to the victims.
“If structural errors do occur, then we ask that the law be enforced as fairly as possible. To provide justice for the victims. And to prevent incidents like this from occurring in the future,” he said.
Basarnas completed the evacuation process on Tuesday (7/10).The latest data shows that 67 people were found dead, including eight body parts.
The total number of evacuated victims reached 171 people, consisting of 104 survivors.Of the total number of victims who died, only 34 have been identified.
East Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Nanang Avianto stated that from the results of the investigation, the East Java Regional Police had discovered the criminal element behind the tragedy that occurred on September 29.At least 17 witnesses have been questioned by the police.
Apart from that, Nanang said there were four or four articles that would be charged against the person responsible for the incident.
“The articles that we will suspect here are Article 359 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 360 of the Criminal Code, negligence which causes death and/or serious injury,” said East Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Nanang Avianto at the Bhayangkara Regional Police Hospital in East Java, Surabaya, Wednesday evening.
“Then we also apply Article 46 paragraph 3 and/or Article 47 paragraph 2 of Law Number 28 of 2002 concerning Buildings, related to fulfilling the technical requirements of buildings,” he continued.
Nanang explained that currently his party is still continuing to investigate the alleged violation of these articles.Including, exploring who the figure should be responsible for the incident.
“There was a building collapse there, the men’s dormitory prayer room which was in the process of construction and casting. The initial suspicion was that the cause was construction failure. Failure of contraction,” said Nanang.
In the future, the police will also immediately summon the Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School administrators.
“And then we will also ask for further inspections from several parties who are responsible for the management process of the [Al Khoziny] Islamic Boarding School itself,” he said.
Apart from that, the police will also collect information and opinions from building experts, construction experts and civil engineering experts.This was done to investigate the alleged cause of the building collapse, which was referred to as a construction failure.
