“Until now, I’m sure all of our colleagues know that the team is still abroad. They are collecting data, checking locations, and coordinating with the Saudi Arabian government to ensure that the allegations being investigated by investigators are in accordance with conditions in the field,” said Setyo at the KPK Building, Jakarta, Wednesday (3/12).

Setyo said the investigators might return to Indonesia this weekend. After that, the results of the investigator’s report will be reviewed and followed up with examinations or other activities.
“Our hope is that they may not be expected until next week, or maybe this week, at the end of this week they will return to Indonesia,” he said.
“After that, we will definitely review the report and report it to the leadership. So, from there, whether there is any follow-up for the inspection or maybe there are additional activities and so on, the decision will be made after that,” he continued.
However, Setyo admitted that he could not confirm when his party would name the Hajj quota corruption suspect.
“I think it’s relative. Fast or slow or long, it’s relative. Because if, for example, we speed it up but then the evidence is still lacking, then the worry is that the investigation process will more or less create additional work for the investigators. But if everything is detailed, everything is complete, I’m sure the investigation process will be easier,” he said.
The Hajj quota corruption case is already in the investigation stage. The KPK has prevented three people from traveling abroad for six months.
Among them are the former Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, his staff, especially Ishfah Abidal Aziz or Gus Alex, and the owner of the Maktour Travel travel agent, namely Fuad Hasan Masyhur.
The Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) has also searched a number of places, such as Yaqut’s residence in Condet, the Hajj and Umrah travel agent’s office in Jakarta, the ASN house of the Ministry of Religion in Depok, and the room of the Directorate General of Hajj and Umrah Organizations (PHU) of the Ministry of Religion.
It is known that based on Article 64 paragraph (2) of Law Number 8 of 2019 concerning the Implementation of the Hajj and Umrah, the special Hajj quota is set at 8 percent, while the other 92 percent is allocated for the regular Hajj quota.
Supposedly, the additional Hajj quota of 20,000 was distributed to 18,400 regular Hajj pilgrims, and a special Hajj quota of 1,600.
However, what happened was that the distribution was divided into 10,000 for the regular Hajj quota and 10,000 for the special Hajj quota. This amount is stated in the Decree (SK) of the Minister of Religion Number 130 of 2024 which was signed by Yaqut Cholil Qoumas who served as Minister of Religion at that time.
