The Indonesian U-21 volleyball team will fight Brazil at the Jiangmen Sports Center in the 17-20 classification of the U-21 2025 Volleyball World Championship, Friday (29/8).
Brazil is one of the great powers in the U-21 volleyball world championship.During his tampik in this event since 1977, Brazil has been a champion three times.
However, in the last few editions of the U-21 volleyball world championship, Brazil’s performance tends to decline.From 1993 to 2009, Brazil was always in the top three, including when the champions in 2001, 2007 and 2009.
But in 2011 in fifth position, then in 2021 and 2021 in seventh and sixth place, then in 2025 had to fight in the 17-20 classification.
At the senior level, Brazil ranked third in the FIVB world ranking by collecting 356.43 in the latest release on August 3.
The ranking is much higher than the Indonesian volleyball national team which is in the 50th position with 78.41 points.
So far FIVB no longer issues world ranking for the U-21 age group.The FIVB version of the U-21 ranking was last coming out in 2024, where Brazil ranked fifth with 104 points as of November 4, 2024. While Indonesia’s position was ranked 20th with 18 points.
Even so, according to the Volleybox site, Brazil ranked first with 588.4 points, while Indonesia was ranked 49th with 6.4 points.
