Sales Indonesia has several times expressed interest in selling low MPVs in the segment that has been busy with the Toyota Avanza and BYD M6.Low MPV is believed to be able to boost Chery sales in Indonesia.
However, the company has not officially revealed what model it will bring or its launch schedule when asked by the media.
“We’ll see later,” said Zeng Shuo, President Director of Chery Group Indonesia in Jakarta, Monday (3/11).

According to data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo), low MPVs are still in demand by consumers as the main choice of family vehicle and are suitable for online taxis.

Meanwhile, Chery itself already has a fairly complete SUV portfolio in various segments, from conventional to electric.
Previously, Chery principals in China had expressed interest in adding a Low MPV model line for the Indonesian market.
“So actually, we have prepared several products (including low MPV cars). Because we really want to make Indonesian consumers feel satisfied,” said President of Chery International Zhang Guibing in April 2025.
According to him, Chery has seriously studied the needs and desires of consumers in Indonesia in recent years, including the love of car consumers in Indonesia for low MPV cars with a capacity of 7 passengers.
“Over the last two or three years, we have learned a lot. We can’t just say we are great, because in reality that’s not necessarily the case. But what is certain is, we have to really make Indonesian consumers happy. We have to be more patient. We need a lot of things. But I’m sure, we will be able to make Indonesian consumers satisfied,” said Zhang.
