If given in the form of cash, Dadan is worried that the MBG funds will be misused by parents.
“We do not use the method where money is sent to parents, then parents tell me to cook, that is one side we have a concern that this money will not be appropriate,” Dadan said in a Food Business Opportunity Discussion in Food Zone in Jakarta, Tuesday (7/10).

In addition, Dadan said that by being distributed directly in the form of food to schools, there was an economic turnover.
Because, a unit of fulfilling nutrition services (SPPG) or MBG kitchen gets a budget of Rp10 billion of which 85 percent is used to buy raw materials in the form of local agricultural products.In addition, the MBG program also absorbs new workers.
“Where there are mothers who have not worked, so they can work, and then can get additional income so that we can eliminate extreme poverty in a location where SPPG stands,” said Dadan.
Dadan previously said President Prabowo Subianto still ordered the MBG program to continue even though the poisoning case was still rife.
“Related to MBG activities, I am still ordered by the President (Prabowo) to accelerate because many children, many parents are waiting for when to receive free nutritious food,” Dadan said at a press conference at the Ministry of Health, South Jakarta, Thursday (2/10).
“Outside of that order I will continue to carry out, unless the President will issue another order,” he added.
He added that the government temporarily stopped the operation of the Nutrition Services Fulfillment Unit (SPPG), aka MBG Public Kitchen which was proven to have problems.
