Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia asked everyone
Gas Station
Pertamina which is in the affected area
flood disaster
and landslides on the island
Sumatra
to operate 24 hours.
This aims to ensure that the supply and distribution of fuel oil (BBM) for disaster-affected areas in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra which were previously disrupted can recover.
“I have just finished a meeting with the President Director of PT Pertamina. Starting tomorrow, all gas stations here we will be open 24 hours for all of your areas. We will serve the needs of the community 24 hours. We will also add generators so that we can serve my brothers and sisters who need fuel here,” said Bahlil at the Central Tapanuli Refugee Post, North Sumatra, Tuesday (2/12).

Bahlil also apologized for services that were not optimal after the disaster. However, he ensured that the government would ensure that it provided the best service.
“We apologize if after the disaster our service was not optimal, we together with the Governor and Regent tried to serve all ladies and gentlemen so that they received good service,” he added.
Bahlil claims that the government continues to make full efforts to optimize fuel services to the public. Therefore, he specifically asked PT Pertamina Patra Niaga to reorganize the stock and distribution of fuel traffic in Medan and its surroundings, which currently has 90 public fuel filling stations (SPBU).
President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Mars Ega Legowo Putra said he was ready to carry out these directions. His party is committed to immediately increasing the number of gas stations that are fully operational 24 hours.
“As a result of the previous meeting, we will add more that operate 24 hours. Approximately 60 SBPUs that we operate 24 hours. We will add more, we will see if we can actually operate 90 SBPUs 24 hours,” explained
According to Ega, fuel in the Medan area and its surroundings is relatively safe because 2 ships have successfully landed to dock at it which is supplied from the Medan Fuel Terminal (TBBM).
“To reduce queues, we will add SBPUs that operate 24 hours to approximately 60 SBPUs,” said Ega.
Another policy support from the government is to provide relaxation to PT Pertamina Patra Niaga to move fuel allocations between districts/cities within the same province.
This step is necessary because the change in vehicle routes from previously passing through the main road must now take an alternative route, causing a shift in fuel consumption to road sections that are still passable.
By adding 24-hour operations and adjusting allocations, the government hopes that fuel distribution can return smoothly and the needs of people in affected areas will soon be met.
