Minister of Home Affairs
Australia
Tony Burke denied the Israeli intervention claim in the expulsion of Iranian Ambassador Ahmad Sadeghi.
Australia asked Ahmad Sadeghi to leave the country after Iran was considered as the mastermind of two antisemite attacks that occurred at the Halal restaurant in Sydney and the Israeli Adass Synagoge in Melbourne.
Australia’s great decision was considered Israel as the effect of Prime Minister’s criticism Benjamin Netanyahu against Anthony Albanese.Netanyahu’s criticism was related to Australia’s attitude through Prime Minister Anthony Albanese who recognized the Palestinian state.
However, Tony Burke assessed that Israeli government spokesman’s comments David Menyer who claimed to intervene in Australia as nonsense.
“Whatever other people say does not change the obligation of Anthony Albanese as the Prime Minister of Australia to defend and protect Australians,” Burke told ABC Radio National quoted from
SMH
.
“There is no pause of a minute between us accepting this assessment and we begin to think about the actions we will take in response.”
In addition to expelling Ambassador Ahmad Sadeghi, Australia also included the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps on the list of terrorist organizations because of the attack.
“The decision we made was only about one thing, namely Australian safety and sovereignty,” Burke said in Sky.
“This is about the safety of Australians, this is about the sovereignty of Australians. And anyone who wants to find other reasons here and there, that is wrong.”
