Kp) Admiral Madya TNI (Ret.) Didit Herdiawan Ashaf was officially inaugurated President Prabowo Subianto as Head of the Authority Agency for the North Java North Coast Management.
The inauguration took place at the State Palace, Central Jakarta, Monday (8/25).This institution was formed as a special authority to oversee the development of the Giant Sea Wall National Strategic Project or the North Coast of Java Sea.
Reporting from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries page (KKP), Didit was born in Surabaya on September 13, 1961. He took a tertiary education by winning the Master of Public Administration and Master of Business Administration title, then completed a doctoral program at the Bogor Agricultural University (IPB).
In addition to academic education, Didit is also a career in the military world.He is a graduate of the 1984 Navy Academy (AAL). Throughout his career, Didit participated in a number of military education, including Diklapa II/Koum Force 8 (1994), Joint Service Command and Staff College at King’s College University, England (1998), Planning of War Officer Course, Italy (2002), Sesko TNI 30 (2003)(2011).
Didit began his military career as a Lieutenant two to the captain with the initial assignment as an AKS division officer at KRI Ngurah Rai-344 (1984).He was later trusted to hold various important positions, such as Kasubdiv Evagians Puslatlekdalsen Kodikal (1995), Kasubdis PBA Puslatlekdalsen Kodical (1995), Palaksa in KRI Lambung Mangkurat-374 (1996), Palaksa KRI Fatahillah-361 (1999), and Commander KRI Nuku-373 (2000).
Didit also served as the aide of the President of the Republic of Indonesia (2004-2009), Chief of Staff of Koarmabar (2010), Commander of Kolinlamil (2010-2011), until Deputy Chief of Staff of the Navy (2014-2015).His military career reached the peak when he was appointed as the Chief of General Staff (Kasum) of the TNI in the 2015-2019 period, then became the Inspector General of the Ministry of Defense in 2019.
After retirement from the military, Didit remained active in the defense.He served as the Special Assistant of the Minister of Defense for Sea Material in 2019-2024, played a role in providing strategic input related to maritime marine and defense.
In 2024, Didit was trusted to enter the Cabinet ranks as Deputy Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia.
For his dedication, Didit received various services in the military field, including Bintang Yudha Dharma Pratama, Bintang Jalasena Utama, Bintang Dharma, Bintang Swa Bhuwana forced, and Satya Lencana loyalty.The award reflects its long dedication in maintaining national defense and significant contributions in the Indonesian Navy.
Now, President Prabowo officially inaugurated Didit as the Head of the Javanese North Coast Management Authority Agency to oversee the construction of the Giant Sea Wall, a giant project planned to stretch from Banten to Gresik as an effort to protect the north coastal area of Java from the threat of rob and extreme climate change.
