while languishing in the Salemba Detention Center, Central Jakarta.
This was discovered after the Central Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office (Kejari) received a transfer of suspects and evidence from Cempaka Putih Police investigators.
Head of Central Jakarta Public Prosecutor’s Office, Fatah Chotib Uddin, said that Ammar Zoni and five other suspects were handed over to the Public Prosecutor (JPU), on Wednesday (8/10).He was proven to be distributing illicit goods in the form of crystal methamphetamine and synthetic marijuana in prison.

“That the suspect MAA alias AZ is involved in the distribution of narcotics from inside the Salemba detention center, Central Jakarta and the suspects have been arrested by KARUPAM Salemba Prison with evidence of narcotics such as crystal methamphetamine and synthetic marijuana (sinte),” he told reporters, Thursday (9/10).

“The suspect MAA alias AZ is a former artist/public figure who was previously convicted in a narcotics case,” he concluded.
Previously, Ammar Zoni had been arrested by officers four times and had to face drug cases.
Based on records, Ammar had his first brush with the law in 2017.At that time, Ammar Zoni was involved in a marijuana and methamphetamine case.
Then, in March 2023, Ammar was arrested again by the South Jakarta Metro Police with evidence of crystal methamphetamine.Ammar was sentenced to seven months in prison and was declared free on October 4 2023.
However, after only two months of breathing free air, Ammar had to face the law again after being arrested again in a similar case on December 12 2023.
