Deputy Minister of Public Works Diana Kusumastuti said that his party would only complete the multi-year contract or MYC contracts that had been running since 2022.

Since the assignment of IKN development began in 2022 in the era of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), the Ministry of Public Works handled a number of basic infrastructure.The projects carried out include the construction of toll roads, clean water channels, to government buildings.
At that time, the Special Institute for IKN Management was not yet formed.Oikn was only born later and still in the structural arrangement stage.
Now, the institution has been fully operational under the leadership of Basuki Hadimuljono, a former Minister of PUPR Jokowi, and has been strengthened by the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) based in IKN.
Gradually, the construction of IKN began to be shifted from the Ministry of Public Works to Oikn.President Prabowo Subianto has also held a meeting several times with Basuki discussing infrastructure development in the capital city of new countries.
One of them took place at the Jakarta Presidential Palace on January 21, 2025, where Prabowo assigned Basuki to continue the construction of the IKN with a budget of Rp48.8 trillion for the next five years.
According to Diana, the remaining work of the Ministry of Public Works in IKN was only a little.The budget of Rp14 trillion has been prepared to complete these projects.

The same thing was previously conveyed by Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo.He emphasized that the construction of IKN did not stop, but would be continued by Oikn.
“If we only have the remnants of work that have not been completed, but there isn’t much. The budget is enough,” Dody said at Sentra Handayani, East Jakarta, Sunday (29/6).
