Head of Public Relations of the Directorate General of Corrections (Ditjenpas) of the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections Rika Aprianti explained that based on the Decision of Review Number: 32 PK/Pid.Sus/2020 on behalf of Setya Novanto.
“The additional criminal offense revoked the rights of the convicted to occupy public office for two years and six months from the convicted person to finish the punishment period,” Rika said when confirmed, Monday (18/8).
Referring to the verdict, said Rika, then Setnov could only re -sit in public office 2.5 years after completing a parole.
“Then his right in two years and six months was counted since completing PB on April 1, 2029,” he said.
Setnov was declared parole since August 16, 2025 after undergoing a period of detention in Sukamiskin Lapas, Bandung, West Java.
Head of Regional Office of the Directorate General of Corrections of West Java Kusnali said that the parole was obtained after the Supreme Court (MA) granted extraordinary legal efforts or reviews (PK) submitted by Setnov.
“Conditional, because after he was granted the 15 -year review to 12 years 6 months, it was counted 2/3 of it, it could be parole on August 16, 2025,” he said, Sunday.
Minister of Immigration and Correctional (Imipas) Agus Andrianto said that the release was in accordance with the assessment.In fact, he said, the release of Setnov was late when compared to the PK results that were decided by the Supreme Court.
“It has gone through the assessment process and the relevant person based on the results of the PK examination has exceeded the time. It should be on the 25th (July) last,” he told reporters at the Presidential Palace Complex, Sunday (8/17).
