Arief said that evening assembly was a mandatory activity for prospective students during their basic education (diksar) period which was led by the police.
According to Arief, after the apple was finished, Izzat complained of weakness. The officers on duty immediately provided first aid and took the deceased to the Health Clinic for an initial examination.
“We checked his blood pressure, we gave him something to drink. After that, he was taken to Unpad Hospital. (After being declared dead) from there, he was then referred to RSHS for recovery,” he said.
Arief said that the doctor stated that Maulana died due to cardiac arrest.According to him, the results of the medical examination showed there were no signs of extreme fatigue or congenital disease.
“Oxygen saturation is still 70, heart rate is also 70. So there is no indication of fatigue. And if you have a history of heart disease, from the start you will definitely not be accepted as a praja candidate,” he said.
Maulana was declared dead at around 23.50 at Unpad Hospital. His body was returned to North Maluku and buried the following morning.
“Since the deceased was sick, we have coordinated with the parents. The family accepted it sincerely,” said Arief.
Arief said the IPDN Diksar activities only focused on Marching Rules (PBB) training and lasted for two weeks.
Diksar starts from 30 September to 14 October 2025. All activities are carried out within the campus area.
“We all live in the mess hall. There are no outside activities, no excessive running, just jogging in the morning and evening as usual,” he said.
Regarding the evaluation of the Diksar program, Arief said that activities would continue. He emphasized that there was no request for a post-mortem or autopsy from the family even though IPDN had offered it.
“We offered to do a post-mortem or autopsy, but the family refused,” he said.
IPDN, continued Arief, also provided compensation to Maulana’s family as a form of the institution’s social responsibility.
“The body was delivered directly to the funeral home according to the parents’ request. Currently the funeral process has been completed,” he added.
Arief strongly denied accusations of violence in IPDN diksar activities.According to him, prospective prajas have not had any interaction with seniors at all, so there is no possibility of physical contact.
“IPDN has zero violence. Even the praja candidates have not yet met with seniors because they are still in the diksar stage which is being handled by a special team. The results of the examination also show that there are no signs of violence on the victim’s body,” said Arief.
Arief also represented the entire IPDN community and expressed his deep condolences to Izzat’s family.
“We are very sad. We wish the late Husnul Khatimah. He was an enthusiastic and diligent child. This is a reminder for all prospective civil servants to always maintain their health and not force themselves,” he said.
