admitted that he was planning to go to the Middle East at the end of this week because of the peace agreement between
Israel and Hamas
in
Gaza Strip
, Palestine, “very close.”
“I’ll probably go there towards the end of this week, maybe Sunday to be precise. And we’ll see, but there’s a very big possibility. Negotiations are going very well,” Trump told reporters at the White House, Wednesday (8/10), quoted

“Our last negotiation, as you know, was with Hamas, and it seems to be going well. So we will tell you, if that is the case, we will probably leave on Sunday, maybe Saturday,” he added.

Trump said he had just spoken by telephone with officials in the Middle East, where his special envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner had just joined discussions in Egypt.
“‘Peace for the Middle East,’ that’s a beautiful phrase, and we hope it will come true, but it’s very close, and they’re doing very well,” Trump added.
“We have a great team there, great negotiators, and unfortunately, they’re also great negotiators on the other side. But that’s something I think will happen.”
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi earlier said he had received “encouraging” signs and praised the support of Trump, whose 20-point peace proposal is the basis of the talks.
Hamas also expressed “optimism” over indirect discussions with its enemy, Israel.
Trump’s plan calls for a ceasefire, the release of all hostages held in Gaza, the disarmament of Hamas, and the gradual withdrawal of Israeli troops from the territory.
On Friday (3/10), Hamas agreed to free hostages in Gaza in accordance with Trump’s proposal.Even so, Hamas asked for lots of negotiations regarding other details in Trump’s proposal.
According to Israel, Hamas’ request indicates that the militia group rejects Trump’s proposal.One of the highlights was the disarmament clause, which Hamas did not respond to.
