“We are studying (the amount of UMP 2026), we still have time,” Yassierli said after a coordination meeting at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Central Jakarta, Monday (9/22).
“Later there will be rules related to the 2026 UMP, God willing. The announcement will be November (2025), we have time later,” said the Minister.
Yassierli promised to listen to the aspirations of workers related to the demands of the 2026 UMP increase. He stressed that this was indeed a phase that had to be taken before deciding the minimum wage.
On the other hand, the government claims to hear the aspirations of the entrepreneurs.
“And we have an institution, a national tripartite LKS. Later it will be reviewed there and of course later we will also discuss all the inputs there,” he said.
The previous government set a 2025 minimum wage increase of 6.5 percent.That applies to all provinces in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, a number of labor unions demanded that the government raise the 2026 minimum wage by 8.5 percent to 10.5 percent.
