As Governor and Deputy Governor of Papua elected after holding an open plenary meeting on Saturday (9/20).
This determination occurred after the Constitutional Court (MK) on Wednesday (17/9) rejected the lawsuit of the results of the Papua Pilgub re-voting submitted by the pair of candidates for governor and deputy governor number one Benhur Tomi Mano-Constant Karma.
Papua KPU Chair Diana Simbiak stated that at the Benhur-Constan plenary meeting the 255,683 votes, while candidate pair number two, Matthew, received 259,817 votes.
The acquisition of Matthew-Aryoko is said to have received 50.4 percent of the total valid votes so that it was determined to be the Governor and Deputy Governor of Papua elected for the 2025-2030 period.
The results of the plenary meeting were then signed by four commissioners namely Diana Simbiak, Fajar Kambon, Abdul Hadi and Amijaya Halim.After the signing of the minutes of the determination, the file was then handed over to the Governor of Papua, MRP, Papuan Parliament and the supporting party.
Matthew after being appointed as Governor of Papua said he would embrace all groups to develop Papua, including his rival Benhur-Constan.

The lawsuit was rejected
The Court said the evidence filed by Benhur-Constan for the lawsuit did not indicate a violation of the law.Allegations of human rights violations submitted for Matthews are also not proven.

Papua Pilgub has been held twice.In the first round, Benhur Tomi Mano-Yermias Bisai was won, but was sued to the Constitutional Court.
The Court finally disqualified Yermias because it was considered dishonest about the address of the residence, then asked the KPU to hold a PSU without Yermias.
Yermias was replaced by Constant Karma as Benhur Cawagub, but the couple lost to Matthew.Matthews were superior with 259,817 votes or 50.4 percent at PSU which was held in August 2025.
