) experienced by a number of students in various regions, including Baubau, Southeast Sulawesi.
He mentioned the main factors that triggered this incident differently, ranging from the limited ability of the kitchen of the new Nutrition Services Fulfillment Unit (SPPG) to changes in suppliers of raw materials that had been run by the provider.
“One reason is caused by the new SPPG operation as in Bengkulu, so we then suggest that the new SPPG starts gradually. Because mothers who used to cook (for) four people to 10 people are not necessarily able to cook directly (for) 1,000 to 3,000 (people),” Dadan said at the BNG Office, Central Jakarta, Thursday (18/9).
According to him, the SPPG kitchen adaptation process should be done slowly.For example, if there are 20 schools that must be served, on the first day there are only two schools, then gradually added to the entire school.
He added that a different case occurred in Baubau.The MBG program in the area has actually been running for eight months without significant obstacles.However, recently there was a problem of poisoning after the change of raw material suppliers.
“The incident in Southwest Maluku or in Baubau has been running for eight months, so it is actually normal, but yesterday the incident because it got new information to replace suppliers. So the raw materials that are usually supplied by routine suppliers, because they want to increase local wisdom replaced by local suppliers who may not be ready,” he explained.
Although admittedly there is still an incident in the field, Dadan asserted that the government still targets the MBG program to continue to run with the principle without poisoning incidents, aka Zero Incident.
“Yes, it remains. It must be zero incident. We want to make children smart, healthy, strong, so the food must be consumed well and not cause digestive disorders,” he said.
Dadan added that until now BGN has channeled around 1 billion portions of food through the MBG program.
In the past week, a number of regions were reported to have experienced a case of food poisoning that allegedly originated from the MBG menu.
In Baubau, Southeast Sulawesi, as many as 37 students of SMA Negeri 7 and Hidayatullah Elementary School were rushed to hospitals and puskesmas on Tuesday (16/9).They experience symptoms of nausea, vomiting, dizziness, to diarrhea after eating the MBG menu.Some students even had time to find chickens in a menu that smelled unpleasant.
A similar case occurred in Lamongan, East Java, Wednesday (9/17).Dozens of students of SMA Negeri 2 Lamongan had to get medical treatment at the Islamic Hospital (RSI) Nasrul Ummah due to food poisoning MBG.Of the 13 students who were treated, four of them were allowed to go home after their condition improved.
Poisoning also befell hundreds of students in Empang, Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara.Based on the data, at least 127 students from various schools, ranging from MTsN 2, Min 3, MAN 3, to SMPN 3 Empang, experiencing symptoms of nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea after eating the MBG menu.Local health facilities must utilize the terrace and musala to accommodate patients.
In Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta, 19 students from three schools in the Semin region fell ill after consuming the MBG menu on Monday (9/15).They experience symptoms of food poisoning and are now still under medical monitoring.
While in Garut, West Java, 194 students in Kadungora District were also suspected of poisoning after eating the MBG menu on Wednesday (9/17) night.Most only experience mild symptoms, but 19 students must undergo intensive treatment at the Kadungora Health Center.
