, Path To Rebirth, announced it will appoint artificial intelligence or artificial intelligence (
Ai
) as a leader.
The appointment of the AI system as the general chairman of the party was carried out after its eccentric founder, Shinji Ishimaru, resigned after failing to bring the party to win the votes in the last election.
“Our new leader is AI,” said Koki Okumura, a doctoral student of AI research who called himself the assistant of the new party leader at a press conference on Tuesday (16/9).
Okumura, a 25 -year -old Kyoto University student, said the details about AI and how its application as the party leader will still be discussed further to be determined.
However, he emphasized that AI would not regulate the political activities of the members, but focused on administrative decisions, such as the distribution of resources among members.Okumura himself recently won the internal party contest to replace Ishimaru.
The Path To Rebirth Party was formed last January by Shinji Ishimaru, who is a former Mayor of Akitakata, a small town in Western Japan.
Path to rebirth is “eccentric” because it does not have a rigid official policy platform like the party in general and its members are free to determine their respective agendas.

, Ishimaru had surprised the public by winning second place in the 2024 Tokyo Governor Election thanks to a successful online campaign.However, he resigned after his party failed to win seats in this year’s high assembly election.
Despite attracting the attention of the media, Path To Rebirth still had difficulty seizing seats in parliament.All 42 candidates lost in the Tokyo Council election last June.
Likewise with 10 candidates who fought in the high assembly elections in July, all failed to be elected.
The use of AI is increasingly widespread and complex in human activities to the political sphere lately.Besides Japan, Albania also plans to appoint AI as a minister to eradicate corruption in the European country.
Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, pointed to artificial intelligence called Diella as “minister” to deal with the issue of corruption in his new cabinet.
Diella, who in Albania means “Sun”, was appointed part of the Rama Cabinet on Thursday last week.
Rama introduced him as “Cabinet members who were absent physically” and will ensure that “all public tender is 100 percent free from corruption.”
With this, Diella became the first AI minister in the world.
