In the midst of burning demonstrations in the country.
Director of Protection of Indonesian Citizens to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Judha Nugraha explained that there were a total of 134 Indonesian citizens in Nepal during the riots.
They consisted of 56 Indonesian citizens who lived in and 78 Indonesian citizens who visited both international and tourism conferences.
Of the 78 Indonesian citizens, 57 of them have been sent home to Indonesia since September 11.As a result, there are still 21 Indonesian citizens left.
“On September 11 there were 18 people, 12 September there were 22, and today at 13 Kathmandu time and at night there will be 17 Indonesian citizens home. So there are a total of 57 Indonesian citizens that we can return as of the 13th today, tonight. There are still 21 remaining,” Judha said at Lanud Halim Perdanakusuma, Jakarta, Saturday (9/13).
He explained that 21 Indonesian citizens were scheduled to go home from tomorrow.
“The plan is that tomorrow 17 will return home. On the 15th there are 2, and 18 there are 2. So the total, God willing, on September 18, all Indonesian citizens who make a short visit can return to Indonesia,” he said.
Meanwhile, he said 56 Indonesian citizens who settled chose to stay in Nepal.
“For those who stay, they choose to stay there because they have a family,” he said.
