Yusril suggested that investigative work be entrusted to existing law enforcement officials to thoroughly investigate the case.
“I think instead of waiting for a long time to form TGPF, I think it’s better for us to use law enforcement officials today, faster to work than we linger,” Yusril said at the Jakarta Presidential Palace, Thursday (11/9).
Yusril said the formation of TGPF requires time, from compiling the team to waiting for them to work in gathering facts.
According to him, TGPF will be more fitting if the state seems silent over this case.However, Yusril claimed that today’s condition was not so because the government had taken a stand on the case.
“Now the facts are clear, legal steps have been taken and the process has been running,” he said.
Wamenko Kumham Imipas Otto Hasibuan Jyga believes that there is no need for an independent investigation team because according to him the police have worked well.
“So I think from this information I think maybe there is no need to do a special team because the police have acted well,” Otto said.
According to him, there is currently no urgency of the formation of the independent team.He also claimed to have talked with the alleged perpetrators who are currently detained by the police.
Otto claimed that none of them felt they had intimidative behavior by the police.
“None of the complaints or to them. That is, he, they are treated well. But indeed they say I am innocent,” he said.
Chairman of the Setari National Council Institute Hendardi urged Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to immediately form an Independent Fact Finding Finding Team (TGPF) to investigate riots until the looting in the last week of August.
Hendardi said the riots gave birth to new demands so that the actual events could be thoroughly investigated.
“It takes clarification and in-depth investigation so that the series of riots is clarified brightly; who is the puppeteer, how the operation takes place, what is the political purpose, and so on. If not, then the public will continue to be overwhelmed by anxiety and uncertainty, even to ignite the excellent escalation,” Hendardi said through written statements, Sunday (7/9).
