on Wednesday (10/9).
Dozens of houses were severely damaged, moderate and light.Most houses are damaged in the roof, ceiling and walls.
“Earlier we data, together with the total village there were 21 houses that were damaged, both heavy, medium and light,” said Head of Prevention and Preparedness Mohammad Farhan, Batam BPBD was confirmed Wednesday (10/9).
There were no fatalities in this tornado.The affected residents have fled to their respective family homes.
At present Batam BPBD is still recording losses from damage to residents’ homes.Farhan said assistance in the form of food and drinks and tarpaulin had been distributed.
“There are no fatalities, we are still calculating for losses,” he said.
Meanwhile, Chairman of RT 02/RW 14, Tanjung Buntung Village, Zakaria said the natural phenomenon of a tornado had occurred in 2023.
But again happened again in September 2025. He said when the incident rained lightly, suddenly there was a strong wind circling the roof of residents from the east past the houses of the local residents.
“Damage to the severe houses, in this house, Block A 61 is quite severe. The ceiling is broken,” he told reporters on Wednesday (10/9).
