The police again set 2 new suspects burning the Grahadi Building

Back to establish two new suspects suspected of destruction and burning of the Grahadi State Building, Surabaya, East Java in a series of demonstrations with a riot 29-31 August 2025.
“There are still some [additional suspects]. Yesterday two people yesterday,” said Surabaya Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Luthfie Sulistiawan at Mapolrestabes Surabaya, Tuesday (9/9).
Luthfie said that the two suspects were allegedly proven to have taken part in burning the Grahadi Building in Surabaya, Saturday (8/30) night.But he did not mention the identity of the two in detail.
“[Allegedly] burning in Grahadi,” he said.
Previously, the Surabaya Polrestabes named 33 suspects in the demonstration led to riots and clashes along August 29-31, 2025. They were suspected of being involved in a number of points to the burning of the Grahadi State Building, Tegalsari Police Headquarters and 29 police posts.
Head of East Java Regional Police Public Relations Commissioner Jules Abraham Abast said, initially the police arrested 315 people from a number of riot points.128 of them are children and 187 other adults.
Jules revealed, of the 315 people, 275 of them were repatriated, while 33 of them were named as suspects.
“While from this number the Surabaya Police investigators have named 33 people as suspects. Where 27 suspects are adult suspects who have now been detained and there are six child perpetrators,” said Jules at Mapolrestabes Surabaya, Friday (5/9).
Jules said, the 27 adults have now been detained while six children are dealing with the law (ABH) when this is returned or handed over to their respective families, for further further examination.
“The 33 suspects that I mentioned earlier were the perpetrators who committed a crime at the location or crime scene of the Grahadi State Building, Tegalsari Police Headquarters and 29 Post Lantas in the city of Surabaya,” he said.
Jules said the suspects were imposed with eight articles or laws.Namely Article 406 of the Criminal Code, Article 363 of the Criminal Code, Article 212 of the Criminal Code then there is Article 187 of the Criminal Code, Article 170 of the Criminal Code, Article 160 of the Criminal Code, then Articles 1 and 2 of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 51.
