Lebanese captain, Mohamad Haidar, gave prayers and great hopes to
Indonesian national team
In order to qualify for the 2026 World Cup after the FIFA Matchday trial match at the Bung Tomo Gelora Stadium, Surabaya, Monday (8/9).In the match, Lebanon managed to hold Indonesia with a score of 0-0.
In the comments after the match, Haidar specifically prayed that the Indonesian national team squad could qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
“I hope your team will qualify for the World Cup and play against Argentina, and we will see what happens when you are against them,” said Haidar.
The remarks are an additional motivation for Indonesia who is currently preparing to undergo the fourth round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
In the event, Indonesia joined in Group B with Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
Indonesia’s inaugural match in this phase will be held against the host of Saudi Arabia at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, Jeddah, on 8 October.
After that, Indonesia will face Iraq at the same stadium on October 11.
Only the team is able to finish at the top of the Group B standings who are entitled to qualify directly for the 2026 World Cup.
Meanwhile, the group runner up still has to go through the fifth round, and the caretaker team is automatically eliminated.
