This was in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 86 of 2025.
“Appointed Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa as Minister of Finance,” said the Presidential Decree which was read at the State Palace on Monday (8/9).
So how did Purbaya’s actions before becoming Minister of Finance?
Purbaya became the Chairperson of the LPS Board of Commissioners since 3 September 2020.
Before serving as Chairman of the LPS Board of Commissioners, the graduate of economics from Purdue University, Indiana, United States (US) had filled several positions, including the Deputy for Maritime and Energy Sovereignty Coordination, the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment (May 2018-September 2020).
He also served as Special Staff for Economic Affairs Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs (July 2016 – May 2018), Special Staff for Economic Affairs Coordinating Minister for Politics, Legal and Security, Coordinating Ministry for Politics, Legal and Security (November 2015 -July 2016).
Then, Deputy III for Strategic Issue Management, Staff Office of the President of the Republic of Indonesia (April 2015-September 2015), Special Staff for Economic Affairs Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs (2010-2014), Member of the National Economic Committee (2010-2014), Deputy Chairperson2016-present).
Then, members of the Advisory Council of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (2016-present) and members of the Indonesia Economic Forum (2015-present).
Before entering the government, Purbaya began his career as a field engineer at Schlumberger Overseas SA (1989-1994), Senior Economist at the Danareksa Research Institute (October 2000-July 2005), President Director of PT Danareksa Securities (April 2006-October 2008), Chief Economist2013), and members of the Board of Directors of PT Danareksa (Persero) (March 2013-April 2015).
