Indonesia claims to be an online motorcycle taxi association (Ojol) plans to hold a demonstration on September 17, 2025. A number of demands will be made, one of which is related to the investigation of the death case of Ojol Affan Kurniawan.
Garda Indonesia Chairperson Raden Igun Wicaksono conveyed the investigation of the Affan death case due to being crushed by tactical vehicles by the authorities in the demonstration last week being a new demand that must be conveyed.
They want the case to be thoroughly investigated and transparent.The demonstration is planned to be held in the DPR with an estimated mass of 5 thousand ojol.
“The latest demand is the completion of the fall of Affa Kurniawan’s death to the end and the family of the deceased gained justice,” Igun said in a short message, Wednesday (3/9).
Responding to Affan’s death on Thursday (8/28), Garda Indonesia made a statement related to five attitudes.
1. Form a joint and independent finding team to thoroughly investigate repressive actions that caused the loss of the lives of Brother Affan Kurniawan, whatever the reason.State apparatus should protect the people, not to cause casualties.
2. Demanding transparency and accountability from the Indonesian National Police, related to the chronology of events that caused Affan Kurniawan’s brother to die.
3. Punishing the perpetrators who are negligent or deliberately carrying out the missing of the victims so that they can be accounted for to the legal process transparently so that similar tragedies do not recur.

5. Urge the government to ensure the protection and guarantee of safety for all online motorcycle taxi drivers, who work every day on the streets and prone to be trapped in mass conflicts.
Igun said that his party would also convey aspirations related to demands to the government in order to make policies whose contents lower the application tariff discounts to 10 percent.
According to Igun Ojol, they will continue to demonstrate until their demands come true.
“Until the main demands of the 10 percent application discount are granted, then we will remain endless action. The Minister of Transportation must revise the application fee discounts from 15 percent to 10 percent,” he said.
