He explained based on Notice to Airman (Notam) issued by Airnav Kupang on Monday (29/9) Gewayantana Airport in Larantula closed from 07.21 WITA until Tuesday (30/9) at 08.30 WITA.
For Fransiskus Xaverius Seda Maumere Airport, it was closed from Monday (29/9) at 07.28 WITA until Tuesday (30/9) at 06.00 WITA.
“Wunopito in Lewoleba closed starting Sept 29 2025 at 07.25 WITA to 30 Sept 2025 at 07.59 WITA. The closing was a few days ago,” he added.
He said the validity period Notam would be extended every day if the airport still had to be closed.
“Notam is only 1 day, then extended, 1 day is valid and then extended. So it has been closed for days,” said Frisdian.
Separately Head of the Organizing Unit of Francus Xaverius Seda Maumere Airport, in Sikka Regency, Partahian Panjaitan said the closure of Frans Seda Airport had been carried out for four days.
“(Closing) since September 24, 2025,” Partahian said through a written pesam.
“The main cause of the closure of Frans Seda Airport due to the air space affected by volcanic ash due to the eruption of male Lewotobi Mountain,” he added.
Based on a written report on Volcano Observation Post (PPGA), Mount Lewotobi men are currently alert or level IV.The mountain located in East Flores Regency NTT was last eruption on Monday (29/9) at 06.26 WITA with a height of volcanic ash reaching 1,500 meters above the peak.
PPGA officer, Yohanes Kolli Sorywutun said when the eruption of the ash column was observed to be gray with thick intensity leaning towards the southwest and west.The eruption was recorded in a seismogram with a maximum amplitude of 14.8 millimeters and duration for two minutes 11 seconds.
